Common questions
- What can ground penetrating radar detect?
- GPR can respond to changes in subsurface materials and may reveal utilities, voids, reinforcement and other buried features. Results depend on ground conditions, target depth and the equipment configuration used.
- Does GPR require excavation?
- GPR is a non-destructive investigation method and normally collects data from the surface. Targeted excavation may still be used separately where physical verification is required.
- What affects GPR survey results?
- Soil composition, moisture, conductive materials and antenna frequency can influence radar penetration and resolution. Survey design and interpretation therefore need to account for site conditions.
